Press Release - Land at Mosser

On the afternoon of Monday 11th November 2024, PFK Rural offered for sale an extensive area of the land located at Mosser, Cockermouth. 

A full auction room witnessed the sale of four Lots and after some rapid bidding the following sales were achieved: Lot 1 extending to 22.41 acres of grazing land reached £100,000 (£4,462 / acre). The second Lot extending to 2.76 acres of mowing land made £32,000 (£11,594 / acre). Lot 3 comprised 24.02 acres of grazing land which settled at £130,000 (£5,412 / acre) and Lot 4 comprising an 86.98 acre upland allotment fetching a final sale price of £232,000 (£2,667 / acre). 

The land had attracted considerable and varied interest with all the land selling to local farming interest. PFK Rural were extremely pleased with the outcome of the sale and the interest that the land has attracted, especially in light of the recent Government changes to both farm payments and the tax treatment of Inheritance Tax announced in the recent Budget
